The film is about a historical event in Judaism: a debate between Nachmanides and Friar Palo Christiani.  The debate is about the nature of the messiah and the differences between Judaism and Christianity on the topic.  Christopher Lee plays King James, who orders the debate.  Rabbi Katz will lead a discussion after the film about the messiah from the perspective of Reform Judaism.
