duplicated, and what survives of the Borscht Belt are the fabulous memories. Marty Schniet will detail the history
of The Borscht Belt and will focus on a number of sites including: Old Route 17, Red Apple Rest and the Bungalow
Colonies, to name a few. He will speak about the following great hotels of the Borscht Belt era including Grossinger’s,
The Concord and Kutcher’s. Hear about the incomparable comedians that got their start in the Catskills including Red Buttons, George Burns, Rodney Dangerfield, Sid Caesar, Henny Youngman and Milton Berle. Finally, hear about what caused the decline of The Borscht Belt.
