ARIEL BURGER is a writer, artist, teacher, and rabbinical scholar who studied with Elie Wiesel. Using the lessons that he learned from Elie Wiesel, Ariel encourages us to explore moral complexities; be sensitize to indifference; combat hatred; embrace memory; accept “the other”; and through social action reduce human suffering. Ariel maintains faith and hope that together we can create a better World for future generations.

5:30 PM – 7:30 PM Spotlight on Contemporary Antisemitism, Professional Development for Educators Presenter: Peter Nelson, Director of Holocaust Education Echoes & Reflections Antisemitism is not a relic of the past, but a hatred the world struggles with today. It is important that educators have the resources and tools to feel prepared to talk about contemporary manifestations of antisemitism and hate crimes with students. During this workshop, a facilitator will share video testimony and other primary and secondary sources that can be used to engage students and spark classroom discussions around current events and the challenging topic of antisemitism in today’s world.
