Survival and Hope Beyond Genocide

In honor of the UN International Day of Peace and in partnership with Mercer Holocaust, Genocide, & Human Rights Education Center, please join us online for the documentary film “Children of Genocide: The Five Who Survived” Voices of genocide survivors from The Holocaust, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Sudan. The documentary focuses on five adults who were children at the time of their particular country’s crisis. The survivors recount their childhood experiences with genocide and their adult perspectives on these atrocities. The survivors range from a 26-year-old Sudanese to a 76-year-old Jewish-German, illustrating the half-century of genocides from Darfur to the Holocaust. In addition to the 30-minute film, the program will include a conversation with the film director, Dr. Ellen Kennedy, and Bosnian survivor, Dr. Dragana Vidovic, who is featured in the film.
