Career Counseling and Job Seekers Success Group offered by Jewish Family Service

 

 

The Hebrew Free Loan Program through Jewish Family Service is designed to help individuals and families with a connection to the organized Jewish community and living in Somerset, Hunterdon, or Warren County become financially stabe and self-supporting by providing interest free loans when no other options are available.

Mental Health Outpatient Care at Jewish Family Service provides individual, couples, child, family, and group therapy.

Rutgers Jewish Film Festival presented by the Bildner Center for Jewish Life, held each year in October/November.

Lifelong Learning

Adult Education at Or Chadash -Members join Rabbi Forman monthly for Kup O' Joe to discuss Jewish thought, practices, and world events. OC Reads - members read a variety of Jewish-themed books; discussions are held by the Rabbi and other members/guest speakers.

Adult Education at Temple Beth-El -Learning doesn't end when you age out of religious school. We believe it's a life-long process that nourishes the mind, the heart, and the soul. Beth-El offers a host of adult education opportunities that connect us more deeply with our Judaism and with each other. 

Adult Education at Temple Sholom with Rabbi Dan

The Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life works closely with the Rutgers University Department of Jewish Studies to provide educational programs for the community at large, including visiting scholars, public lectures and symposia, the Rutgers Jewish Film Festival, and Jewish Studies Online (free noncredit courses)

 

The Jewish community of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties offers Jewish LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone) programs designed for people of all ages and at all stages of life. Jewish LIFE is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of West-Central New Jersery and the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum JCC, and is presented in partnership with the Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties as well as all of the Synagogues and Chabad Houses.

The Education and Resource Center at The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living provides health, wellness, and educational programs for the greater community. Programs include speakers, workshops, and continuing education programs. 

Volunteer Opportunities

Family Mentor Program at Jewish Family Service offers a volunteer visitation program for families feeling overwhelmed and isolated. A licensed clinical social worker provides an initial home visit and assesment. The social worker then matches a specially trained and supervised volunteer who makes a year-long commitment to visit the family weekly/bi-weekly.
